Our Philosophy on Puppy Adoption

At Crown Catahoulas, raising purebred Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs is a matter of dedication, health, and ethics. Bringing a puppy into your home is a major life commitment. Because living animals require significant care, health planning, and preparation, our refund and return policies are designed to protect both the prospective owner and the lifelong well-being of our puppies.

1. Puppy Purchase Returns & Refunds

Once a puppy leaves our care and is handed over to the buyer (or transport service), sales are considered final under the following guidelines:

  • General Change of Mind: We do not offer cash refunds or returns if a buyer simply changes their mind, experiences lifestyle changes, or decides they are unprepared for the responsibilities of dog ownership after taking the puppy home.

  • Health Guarantee Claims: Returns or puppy replacements based on health conditions are strictly governed by our 1-Year Genetic Health Guarantee. If a covered genetic condition is diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian within the first year, a replacement puppy of equal value will be provided from the next available litter. Cash refunds are not issued for medical claims.

2. Our Lifetime Rehoming & No-Shelter Guarantee

We care deeply about every puppy born under our roof for its entire life. Under no circumstances should a Crown Catahoula puppy or adult dog ever be surrendered to an animal shelter, rescue organization, or rehomed without our knowledge.

First Right of Recovery:

If at any point during your dog's life you are no longer able to keep, care for, or provide a safe home for your Crown Catahoula (due to health changes, housing restrictions, or personal hardship):

  1. Contact Us Immediately: You agree to notify us first.

  2. Surrender Support: We will assist in taking the dog back or help place the dog into a pre-screened, loving forever home through our network.

  3. No Financial Refund: Returning or surrendering a dog under our Lifetime Rehoming Policy does not entitle the owner to a cash refund or financial reimbursement, as funds are allocated toward the dog's veterinary exam, food, and temporary care during rehoming.

3. Order Cancellations Prior to Pick-Up / Delivery

If a buyer cancels their order prior to receiving the puppy, any amount paid above the initial non-refundable deposit will be refunded to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days.
